Enguard™ BP 6200 ARF series vinyl ester bonding pastes receives Germanischer Lloyd (GL) approval

DUBLIN, Ohio – Ashland Performance Materials, a commercial unit of Ashland Inc. (NYSE: ASH), today announced the Enguard BP 6200 ARF series vinyl ester bonding pastes have received Germanischer Lloyd (GL) approval as a "duromeric adhesive" that complies with or exceeds applicable requirements.

Enguard BP 6200ARF series bonding pastes are especially recommended for the manufacture of wind turbine blades and adhesion of joints in other demanding applications where high toughness is required. Enguard BP 6200 ARF bonding pastes are based on an epoxy modified vinyl ester resin, with excellent mechanical properties. They are pre-accelerated bonding pastes, cured with standard methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and no special peroxides are needed. These bonding pastes contain color indicator to indicate proper peroxide mixing, and rheology has been designed to have very good sagging resistance and excellent flow properties when using pump dispensing equipment.
